Semptember’s Quarterly Communications was a special “invite only” event for 2,200 freemasons at UGLE in Queens Street. I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend as part of the Province of Devonshire delegation, which was a huge honour and great privilege for me.
Due to the postal strike, all attendees had to collect their tickets on arrival and we had to be seated by 11am. This in itself was a logistical challenge but went quite smoothly for most people. The main temple could hold 1500 people so 700 attendees had to be accommodated in side rooms with audio/video feeds.

On this special occassion we were treated to not one but three installations of Rulers. This is the first time this has occurred and is unlikely to happen again for some considerable time.
First was the installation of R W Bro Jonathan Spence, Deputy Grand Master, as Pro Grand Master.
Follwed by the installation of R W Bro Sir David Hugh Wooton, Assisstant Grand Master, as Deputy Grand Master.
With the final installation being that of R W Bro David John Medlock, DL, Provincial Grand Master for Somerset, as Assistant Grand Master.
This was followed by the installation of the new Grand Secretary, Worshipful Brother Adrian Marsh, and then the remaining business of the day.
The weather was good, the company was good, and I am sure that I speak for most of our delegation when I say that it was a fantastic day and a memory to be treasured.
