Having been a Worshipful Master four times in his 52 years as a Freemasons W. Bro Chris Aplin takes the Chair of King Solomon again…
You would think that having already held the position of Worshipful Master four times in his 52 years as a Freemasons it was time to sit back and let others take up the baton.
Not so in the case of W. Bro. Chris Aplin PPrJGW who previously sat in King Solomon’s Chair in his Mother Lodge Excester Lodge No. 6228 in 1981, Lodge of Union No. 444 in 1995, Blundell’s Lodge No. 5467 in 2009 and the Louis Marchesi Lodge No. 9558 in 2017. As they say you can’t keep a good man down.
Chris was installed in a fine fashion by the outgoing Worshipful Master W. Bro. Peter Hinchliffe and then installed his officers in a way that befitted a master with Chris’s skills. Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Craig Cox gave the address to the worshipful Master, W. Bro. Kevin Jones addressed the Wardens and W. Bro. Clive Eden gave the address to the Brethren, and all were flawless as you would expect.
Everyone then retired to the festive board, one of the first prepared by the new Chef and his catering team and if he maintains the standard he produced on that occasion, the other lodges that meet in Gandy Street are in for a treat going forward.
