On Wednesday 9th December 2015, E.Comp. Simon W. Rowe, M.E. Grand Superintendent, visited Erme HRA Chapter No.1091 in Ivybridge, to present a 50 year Certificate to E.Comp. Keith B. Jackson, PAGSoj.
Before making the presentation, E.Comp. Rowe read the minutes of the convocation when E.Comp. Jackson was exalted into Erme Chapter on 17th November 1965. He tested E.Comp. Jackson’s memory by asking him who were the principal officers who conducted the ceremony, which E.Comp. Jackson answered to the satisfaction of all who were present!
E.Comp. Rowe then read the minutes of the convocation when E.Comp. Jackson was installed into the First Principal’s Chair on 15th May 1979. Again, E.Comp. Jackson was tested by having to name the principal officers he appointed and invested on that night to assist him during his year as MEZ of Erme Chapter. E.Comp. Jackson passed the test!
After being presented with his certificate, E.Comp. Jackson referred to his love of the Holy Royal Arch and his belief that all brethren should become Royal Arch Masons in order to develop their Masonic knowledge. He received a well deserved round of applause from the assembled companions on reaching this impressive milestone and we all wish him many more happy years in the many Masonic Orders that he enjoys. The memorable evening was completed with a delicious Christmas Dinner provided by the caterers at Erme Masonic Hall.
