On the evening of 14th December the members of Dart Lodge 2641 and their wives gathered in their temple in Dartmouth to present two very worthwhile charities with cheques worth a combined value of £1000.
As they were unable to attend the WAKE Fund evening in November a cheque for £500 which should have been given on that occasion was presented to Mrs. Anne Worsfold Executive Director of the CUED Speech UK which is a local based charity that offers deaf children and their parents nationwide the opportunity of developing and learning the spoken word quickly and easily. She thanked the Brethren of Dart Lodge for their and the Wake funds continued support. The Brethren and their wives were then given a talk on the work of the charity which they found very informative.

The photo on the left is a cheque presentation to Sam Ebden a volunteer from another charity called Torbay Dementia Action Alliance for £500, again a local charity born on the 12th January 2012 with the aim of making Torbay the first dementia friendly resort in Britain. Sam thanked the Brethren for their generosity and explained a little about the work of the charity.
The line up from Lto R is the same as the other photograph, except that the young lady is Sam Ebden. Chris Tucker’s father-in-law was given tremendous help by this charity when he was suffering from this terrible disorder.
