20th October 2022 saw a twist to the usual Installation meeting for Tormohun Lodge No.6449…
The Installation meeting for Tormohun Lodge No.6449 on 20th October 2022 saw a surprise ending before the Province retired from the Lodge.
W. Bro Charles Yelland P.G.S.D, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, presided over the meeting. The Installing Worshipful Master, W. Bro Steve Wilson, presented a cheque for £500 for the MCF Festival.
Having installed his successor, the new Worshipful Master W. Bro Neil Penman then presented a further cheque for £100 towards the Teddies for Loving Care charity within the Province. Both cheques were gratefully recieved and much appreciated from a small lodge with limited members.
The Past Master’s jewel was presented to W. Bro Steve Wilson by W. Bro Charles Yelland on behalf of the Lodge.
At the point where the Provincial Officers would normally depart from the lodge, W. Bro Charles Yelland requested that he be allowed to address the Lodge. W. Bro Keith Ward Provincial Deputy Director of Ceremonies was asked to present W. Bro Gordon Cooke to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master. At this point everybody was wondering what was happening.
W. Bro Yelland the proceeded to present a certificate for service to Freemasonry to W. Bro Cooke on behalf of R.W. Bro Ian Kingsbury, Provincial Grand Master. W. Bro Gordon has been the Clerk/Secretary for the Education and Mentoring Team since its inception back in 2009 when R.W. Bro Ian Kingsbury was the first Provincial Grand Mentor. W. Bro Gordon still holds that role today.
