max woosey charlie yelland 500“I’m Max, aged 11 years, from Devon, UK. Since the end of March 2020 I’ve been sleeping outside every night in a tent, raising money for the North Devon Hospice. They were amazing in looking after our family friend Rick, enabling him to pass peacefully at home, with those closest to him.”

In North Devon 11 year old Max Woosey is something of a legend, he’s slept out in a tent in his garden since the end of March 2020 raising funds for North Devon Hospice. Devon’s Freemasons are long time supporters of all the hospices around Devon and met Max to present him with a cheque for £500 from leader Ian Kingsbury’s own fund.

Presenting the cheque Devon assistant Charlie Yelland said:

“We’ve heard about the fantastic job you’ve done in raising over £500,000 pounds and the County’s Leader Ian Kingsbury has asked me to present you with a cheque for £500 to help you, for an 11 year old we think it’s an amazing job you’re doing”

When we met Max he’d done 404 nights under canvas and raised £533,556 plus £106,868 in Gift aid totalling £639,424…….and he’s no intention of stopping anytime soon!
