Mount Edgcumbe Masonic Hall welcomed members and guests on Friday 13th March for a highly enjoyable whisky tasting evening in support of the Plymouth Building Fund, an appeal helping to provide a new home for Freemasonry in Plymouth.

The evening was organised by W Bro Mikey Collings of WDUS Lodge No. 2258 and was well supported, with members from a good spread of Lodges across the Province attending, together with several guests.

Those present were treated to a fine selection of mainly Scottish malt whiskies, each introduced and described by an expert before the tasting. The event offered a relaxed and sociable opportunity for members and guests to learn more about different styles of whisky while enjoying good company.

The new Hall catering team, led by Lorraine, provided an excellent buffet, while Grace from Ultan Moran’s team at Kitty O’Hanlon’s gave great service behind the bar.

As is so often the case at these fundraising events, the evening concluded with a raffle, which raised a fantastic £1,065 for the Plymouth Building Fund.

Following the success of the whisky tasting, a wine tasting evening has already been arranged for Friday 12th June, with gin and rum tasting evenings also planned for later in the year.
