On Tuesday 18th April 2023 the Devonshire Provincial Mentoring Team gave a presentation on The Grand Lodge certificate with a quiz to True Love and Unity Lodge, No.248.
The Worshipful Master of the Lodge W. Bro. John Strange thanked W. Bro Chris Bird (Provincial Grand Mentor) and W. Bro Ken Swan (Area Mentor for Torbay) for their presentation and quiz on The Grand Lodge Certificate and its use as a passport for Freemasonry.
The Grand Lodge certificate they are holding is believed to be one of very few still in existence in Devonshire that pre-date the United Grand Lodge of England formed in 1813. The certificate was issued to Bro Isaac Whyte of the True Love and Unity Lodge in 1801. If you are visiting True Love and Unity you will see that it is of a very different form and worthy of an explanation on its own.
The presentation is one of several new presentations available from the Provincial Mentoring Team and include The First Degree Tracing Board, Explanation of the First Degree and Hidden in Plain Sight.
