Members of Pleiades Lodge No 710, joined by family and friends, gathered for a lively evening of fun, food, and friendly competition, all in support of a meaningful community cause.
Held at the Lodge on 29th October 2025, the Lasagne and Quiz Evening brought together 40 attendees, including several children who all enjoyed the evening.
The Primary aim was to raise funds for the St John’s Church “Lift Up Fund”, a local initiated working toward improved accessibility at the church through the installation of a lift.
The quiz was a close-run contest, with several team vying for victory right up to the final round. The winning team consisted of members of Pleiades Lodge 710 and Dartmoor Lodge 4604, and their wives. Good natured laughter (and the occasional grown over a missed answer) filled the room through the evening.
Guests enjoyed a delicious homemade lasagne supper, followed by a dessert of Fresh Fruit Pavlova. A raffle during the evening also helped with this community fundraising initiative.
The evening was helped by David Timothy who helped lead the evening, Jon Sibley who helped set up and run the bar, and Mark Willetts and Simon Arscott who helped to organise the evening.
Following the event, a cheque for £250 was presented to Sue Stabler, treasurer of St John’s Church, by David Timothy on behalf of the Lodge (both pictured in the photo).
The Evening’s success reflects the ongoing commitment of Freemasons in Devonshire to support their local communities, not just with charitable giving but also by bringing the community together.
