The Annual Ball hosted by the Provincial Grand Master took place at the Rougemont Hotel in Exeter on Saturday, June 29th, 2024. Freemasons from all over the Province, accompanied by their wives, partners, and friends, gathered for a night of fun and fellowship. The event was so popular that the ballroom was filled to capacity, with the only downside being the tiny dance floor due to the large turnout.
After the previous events went so well, we were all looking forward to another amazing evening, and let me tell you, we were not let down. After dinner, the host Lenny Vee kicked off the night by introducing the Michael Bublé tribute act, Max Hutton, who got everyone up on the dance floor and singing along right away.
The American Four Tops took the stage for the main event, asking the audience if they enjoyed Motown. The response was a resounding cheer and, as they began their act, the ballroom erupted with energy. It was truly a top-notch performance!
The dance floor was packed from start to finish, with guests dancing all around. Even those who were usually more reserved couldn’t help but sing along and clap from their seats. The atmosphere in the room was simply indescribable – it was absolutely fantastic!
The lead singer made a request, calling out for ‘Mr Ball’ to join them on stage. Our Provincial Grand Master joined in with them, singing along with a great deal of enthusiasm. It was a memorable moment, but he’s unlikely to be receiving many requests for the ‘Master’s Song’ and should focus on his ‘day job’. Feedback after the event was overwhelmingly positive, with people responding it had been ‘the best night yet,’ ‘fantastic,’ and ‘awesome.’ Everyone left with a smile on their face, feeling like a teenager again. Oh, what a night indeed!

PGM’s Ball 2025
The American Four Tops left such a great impression on the organising team that they’ve been booked to return as the opening act for the PGM’s Ball of 2025. This event will also celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Province of Devonshire, and Nick’s goal is to make it the most spectacular event ever seen in the Province, as a huge thank you for all the support from the Brethren.
The line-up for the entertainment looks fantastic, with the American Four Tops kicking things off, followed by the Bohemians, a Queen Tribute endorsed by Brian May, and ending with the Disco Divas. It’s going to be an amazing night!
Ticket sales for the event at Sandy Park Stadium on Saturday June 28th 2025 are now available. With an expected attendance of over 500, we anticipate a quick sell-out.
