2024 Sponsored Round the Bay Coastal Walk in aid of Rowcroft Hospice

1/2 Day Walk – Brixham Prince William Statue to St. Johns Lodge Torquay

Prince William Statue – head for the Fish market – visible on your left looking down the harbour – take the path behind the Fish market and follow the side of Oxen Cove to the building at the end of this stretch – up the steps to Battery Woods and around the path to Fishcombe cove (look out for seals)

Up the hill by the small café and turn right at the top – follow the path to the old kissing gate – take the path that is signposted Churston Ferrers and Greenway –– At the end of this path is a gate with side stile – turn right onto the road and carry on to Churston Church – follow the road around to the Links Close – and Broadsands signs  – follow the footpath across the Golf Links (carefully) and carry on to Elberry Cove

Keep going until you descend into Elberry Cove  – cross the beach and look for the Yellow Path marker and follow the coast path around Churston Point to Broad Sands beach – follow this around the coast to Goodrington Sands

At the Paignton end of the Goodrington Sands promenade turn left up the hill (under the viaduct) to the coast path sign on the right (may be steam trains visible) – climb this path and continue on to Paignton

Walk the Paignton and Preston beach promenades – lift up from the Marine parade and follow the path leading to Hollicombe park – out of the main gates onto the Torbay Road (easy going now)

Follow the road until you reach the Torquay Harbour

Turn Left at the Clock Tower up Torwood Street for 50 paces look across the road for Park Lane leading up to the Hole in the Wall and the Devon Arms

St. Johns Lodge is up the slope from the Hole in the Wall to the right

You will have walked approximately 10 miles – Well done !
