Kitty O’Hanlon’s Irish Bar was rocking on Thursday 16th April as Freemasons, families, friends, and members of the armed forces community came together for a fantastic evening of live music in support of St Luke’s Hospice and the Plymouth Building Fund.
The event was organised by Bro Shaun Davis and his band, Juke Joint, together with Bro Mark “Cocker” Wilcockson of Mods Unplugged. Both are members of Western District United Services Lodge No. 2258 and military veterans. The evening was made possible with the kind permission and support of W Bro Ultan Moran of Philammon Lodge No. 3226, owner of Kitty O’Hanlon’s Irish Bar.
The night opened with a brilliant set from Mods Unplugged, setting the tone for what proved to be a lively and enjoyable evening. During a short break, W Bro Ultan generously provided food for everyone, with pulled pork baps served to those attending.
Juke Joint then took to the stage, delivering a superb set that had the pub rocking and the dance floor full.
The evening concluded with a raffle draw, helping to raise an impressive £560 for St Luke’s Hospice and the PBF. With many Masons, family members, and supporters from the armed forces community in attendance, the event was a great success.
Following the popularity of the evening, a second Mods v Rockers event is already being planned for the autumn.
