W.Bro Reuben Ayres

Reuben was initiated into St George’s Lodge No.112 in Exeter in 2003 and served as Worshipful Master in 2013.

He joined the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Lodge No.3362 in London in 2005 and became Worshipful Master in 2009.

He was appointed Provincial Grand Charity Steward in 2017 serving throughout the Devonshire 2023 Festival and was a Provincial representative for the Masonic Charitable Foundation.

He is a trustee of the Provincial Benevolent Fund and was awarded Grand Rank as Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2018.

He was appointed Assistant Provincial Grand Master in 2023 and is responsible for the Learning & Development team.

Professionally a consultant gastroenterologist, he retired in 2022 after 38 years at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.

He maintains an active interest in music, having played in various bands over 40 years, as well as local and family history.
